Ancestral by John Trent

Some places keep the old magic
Barrows warrened & warded
By sticky blood oaths
That we in guttural language
Spoke through our absences, our invocations
Of the black honey bee.

John Michael Trent writes poetry and fiction in his native Houston TX. ‘Ancestral’ is his first published work.
